Here at Matter Labs we like to be involved in every way we can with our local businesses, community, and schools. Through collaboration and partnerships, we created several programs inspired by community needs.
FATHOMWERX
FATHOMWERX is an innovator of technology designs fusing academia, civilian companies, and other nontraditional DoD partners who work on the United States DoD and Maritime's most challenging problems. We have created a very dynamic platform designed to create a high rate of return on collision for all participants. Through the use of our growing ecosystem, promotion of divergent thought, and neutral facilitation, our goal is to bring the right minds together to solve challenging problems.
Future Labs
Future Laboratories is organized and operated exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes. It's dedicated to innovation, research, education, and the commercialization of new and emerging technologies through collaborative partnerships with industry, academia, military, nonprofits, and government.
Outrider
Outrider is an AI-driven matchmaking platform designed to connect government agencies with private industry innovators. By streamlining collaboration, the app helps users discover, evaluate, and engage with companies offering solutions to critical challenges. With regional insights and a focus on fostering partnerships, Outrider accelerates the process of innovation and ensures the right technologies reach the right decision-makers efficiently.
Crucible Xtractor
Crucible Xtractor is a defense technology accelerator designed to advance emerging technologies from TRL 6–8 through DoD experimentation to Navy transition pathways. The program identifies high-potential companies, matches them with mission-aligned subject matter experts, and places them into DoD test events and operator field exercises. Operator feedback drives rapid iteration, and transition-ready technologies are packaged directly into programs like STP, Catapult, Launch, and DON SEC. Open to all technology domains with no geographic constraints, Xtractor runs year-round to maximize teams, tests, operator touchpoints, and transition candidates.
Dark Matter
Dark Matter is our venture fund dedicated to investing in breakthrough technologies and disruptive startups. We back bold founders building solutions that push the boundaries of what's possible across defense, deep tech, and emerging industries.
