FATHOMWERX

FATHOMWERX is located at Naval Base Ventura County and serves as a neutral collaboration space where startups, established companies, Navy commands, and academic institutions can work together to test and evaluate emerging technologies. It is one of the most active innovation labs in the DoD ecosystem.

The lab provides access to testing facilities, mentorship from government and industry experts, and direct connections to Navy program offices and end users. Technologies tested at FATHOMWERX include autonomous systems, advanced batteries, sensors, maritime robotics, and port security solutions.

Matter Labs is a key partner in the FATHOMWERX ecosystem, helping startups navigate the path from technology demonstration to government adoption. Through FATHOMWERX, companies can demonstrate their Technology Readiness Level (TRL) advancement in a real-world operational environment.

FATHOMWERX also hosts STEM education events, including FIRST Robotics competitions and innovation challenges, making it a hub not just for technology development but for workforce development in the defense innovation community.
