AFRL manages research across air, space, cyber, materials, sensors, propulsion, human performance, and autonomy. It works with universities, primes, startups, and other government organizations to mature technologies for future operations.

For startups, AFRL can be relevant through SBIR/STTR topics, BAAs, lab collaborations, and transition partnerships. The key is showing where the technology fits into an Air Force or Space Force mission gap.
